Artistic Photo ( Division D) Back

  • Place Name: First Place
    Contestant Name: Superior Telegram
Entry Title: Foggy, soggy day on Barker's Island
    Entry Credit: Jed Carlson
Judge Comment: Awesome effort to get out and shoot in these conditions. Perfect framing to show the expansive fog but also keeping your swinging subject in focus.
  • Place Name: Second Place
    Contestant Name: The Star News
    Entry Title: Courthouse dome
    Entry Credit: Mandee Ellis
Judge Comment: Lots of interesting elements to look at. The moon, the building shape, the smoke from a chimney, the fogged up windows matching the caption of cold temperatures. Awesome framing.
  • Place Name: Third Place
    Contestant Name: The Monroe Times
Entry Title: NG Sunset Kick AK
    Entry Credit: Adam Krebs
Judge Comment: Interesting colors and good job waiting for the kick in the air. Don't mind the titled horizon. Be weary about phone cameras and how they can auto edit images, though.
  • Place Name: Honorable Mention
    Contestant Name: The Monroe Times
    Entry Title: Running Reflections
    Entry Credit: Natalie Dillon
Judge Comment: Really great idea with a still pond but I think this could've been perfected with one or two more frames shot. No reason to chop off runners heads when the photo can just be re-shot a bit lower. Complete the reflection!
