Judge Comment: An impressive collection of protest photos, especially as it captures the multiple facets (silent in public, loud while walking, silent sit-in). It also looks like these were of varying degrees of difficulty (for e.g., the linked arms photo probably provided ample time and space to get the right show, the sit-in ample time but needing to work to find the space and the walking simply tested the live-action ability of the photographer). Great work capturing an important protest!

Judge Comment: Ambitious though there are some flaws (for e.g., the circle photo is neither illustrative enough for us to fully understand what the person in the middle is doing, nor obscuring enough to provide a sense of mystery). I really like the megaphone photo: it looks like the peak of the speaker's intensity. The range of emotion captured in the photos is impressive.

Judge Comment: One photo entry that captures a certain "above the din" effect. Good work to get the lighting on the speakers' faces that you did from a disadvantageous angle. My only wish was that the flag had been captured a little more "upright" but you can't control the wind. This is an example of a story that would have had a terrible visual if an amateur photographer settled from standing on the other side to get the images.

Judge Comment: Only one photo in this entry but it is a very illustrative one. I have no idea if the performer on the left is related to the director in any way but they look like they could be sisters, esp. the angle the photo shows! Careful how you crop photos though, as a less experienced reader might mistake the performer for the director if they don't know how chorales work (it could just as easily be a director sitting and observing an audition if you didn't know better).

Competition Comment: Impressive work, as even the unranked photos did a very good job of telling the story. Take a bow, students!
