  • Place Name: First Place
    Contestant Name: The Chippewa Herald
Entry Title: Photos from a title

Judge Comment: Nice clear photos of a championship volleyball match. The best shot was buried at bottom left.
  • Place Name: Second Place
    Contestant Name: Oshkosh Northwestern
Entry Title: A homeowner's close encounter with Lake Winnebago ice shoves
    Entry Credit: Bill Glasheen
Judge Comment: A good "glad it wasn't my house" photo essay. Three or four of your best photos would have worked.
  • Place Name: Third Place
    Contestant Name: The Reporter
Entry Title: North Fond du Lac boy Mason Jerman working to walk again
    Entry Credit: Bill Glasheen
Judge Comment: The feeling conveyed is a loving family trying their best to help their child. Good work handling a difficult subject.
  • Place Name: Honorable Mention
    Contestant Name: Watertown Daily Times
    Entry Title: Fair fun
    Entry Credit: Ed Zagorski
Judge Comment: The county fair is a favorite subject. Top photo is posed (except for the excellent jersey calf).
  • Competition Comment: This was a tough contest to judge as the entries were from varied categories. The photographers or copy editors should be aware that 2-3 good or great photos are preferred over 5-6 so-so entries.
