Berlin Journal Newspapers working with USPS to eliminate delivery delays

Berlin Journal Newspapers and Finger Printing & Publishing are working with the US Postal Service to resolve delivery issues with its newspapers, including Berlin Journal, Green Lake Reporter, Princeton Times-Republic, Markesan Regional Reporter and the Omro Herald.

A piece in the May 14, 2026 issue of the Berlin Journal covered the news. According to the story:

As Berlin Journal Newspapers continues to consolidate its services with Finger, there have been some “unforeseeable delays” in mailing the weekly newspapers.

“Transitioning to new postal software, which is used to address individual newspapers for delivery, we first learned of the issue following the publication and attempted delivery of the April 30 editions of the Markesan Regional Reporter and Omro Herald specifically being delivered outside of our immediate coverage area to subscribers in Oshkosh, Fairwater, Cambria and beyond,” the article reads.

After learning of the delay, the company began working with USPS officials to identify the problem and find a solution. Implementing the solution caused further delay in mailing the five newspapers’ May 7 issues to local subscribers.

However, as a result of working with USPS, the company learned of a new program to expedite verification of the publications for mailing. By using the newer verification system through the USPS, the company has been told it will allow quicker delivery to local post offices — ensuring more regular delivery to subscribers.
