Future Headliners

Recognizing outstanding young journalists

Do you know a young professional who’s making a difference in the newspaper industry? We want to recognize them and share their stories.

Every two years, the WNA Foundation honors up to five young leaders who represent the best of our industry’s up-and-coming industry professionals. Nominations are open to college students or professionals age 30 and under who are currently working in the newspaper industry or studying for a future career in the industry.

Future Headliners must display good character, leadership and professionalism. Nominees should show a commitment to impacting the newspaper industry in a positive manner and be ready to serve as an ambassador during the convention and throughout the following year.

Honorees will be selected by a committee of WNA members.

Those selected to be Future Headliners will be profiled in the Weekly Briefing and recognized during the annual WNA Convention & Trade Show. Honorees will also be asked to create a short video highlighting their backgrounds, what they enjoy about their work and why they believe newspapers play an important role in our society.

The Future Headliners program is made possible by the WNA Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports programs that foster excellence in journalism, engage current and former newspaper leaders and invest in our communities. The Foundation solicits, manages and disburses funds and other resources for the benefit of Wisconsin’s newspaper industry.
